My Approach
As an integrative therapist, I tailor my approach to meet your unique needs. We will work together to understand your emotions and develop practical tools to help you move forward in a way that feels right for you.

-
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT): If you're struggling with negative thought patterns, CBT can help you identify and challenge them, offering practical strategies to manage your emotions and cope with grief or anxiety.

-
Mindfulness: I integrate mindfulness techniques to help you stay grounded, regulate emotions, and manage stress during difficult times.

-
Person-Centred Approach: You are in control of your counselling journey. This approach ensures that you are at the heart of the process, allowing you to explore your emotions in a safe, empathetic, and nonjudgmental space.

Face to Face
In-person sessions offer a private and supportive environment where we can work together in my Grantham office. These sessions allow for a deeper connection and personal interaction, helping you feel grounded and supported throughout the counselling process.
Home Visits
For those who may be unable to attend sessions in person due to illness, mobility issues, or personal preference, I offer home visits. This allows you to receive counselling in the comfort of your own home, ensuring you still have access to the support you need.
Walk & Talk
Walk & Talk counselling combines therapy with the calming effects of nature. This option involves outdoor sessions, where walking side-by-side can create a relaxed atmosphere, helping you open up while benefiting from physical movement and fresh air.
Online & Telephone
Counselling over the phone or via video allows for flexibility and convenience, making it easier to fit therapy into your schedule from the comfort of your home. Whether you prefer a voice call or a virtual face-to-face session, online and telephone counselling can provide the same level of care and confidentiality.
How we can work together
I offer flexible counselling options to suit your needs and preferences, whether you prefer in-person sessions, remote support, or even outdoor sessions.
What to Expect in Your Counselling Journey
1.
Initial Consultation
Our first session will typically involve an assessment where I’ll ask you some general questions about your background, what brings you to counselling, and what goals you might want to achieve. This session is about getting to know each other and ensuring that you feel comfortable. We’ll also discuss practical details like session frequency, payment, and confidentiality.
3.
A Supportive, Ongoing Process
Everyone’s journey through counselling is different. There’s no fixed number of sessions required, and we’ll regularly check in to see how you’re feeling about the progress you’re making. You are in control of how long and how often you attend counselling. My role is to support and guide you as you move towards healing and finding the tools to manage life’s challenges.
2.
Counselling Sessions
Each session will last approximately 50 minutes, and you can choose to meet weekly or biweekly depending on your preferences. During our sessions, I provide a safe, empathetic, and nonjudgmental space where you can explore your feelings openly. The therapy will be tailored to your needs, and we may use techniques such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, or person-centred approaches based on what feels most helpful for you.
4.
Ending Therapy
When you feel ready, we can discuss ending therapy in a way that feels comfortable for you. The ending phase is as important as the beginning, as it allows us to reflect on the progress you’ve made, the tools you’ve developed, and your readiness to move forward independently.
